Week 2
In last weeks class we watched videos of stop animation by The Brothers Quay. The first one that we viewed I re-watched and my opinion hasn't changed that it's boring and repetitive. Though in class I knew there was the aspect of evolution, I was able to have that idea in mind while reviewing it and really seeing the evolution in it. The second video, though a little boring as well, was easier to understand. I took that little extra clay thing as a baby that really tore apart the two people in love. Both videos seem to have an evolution theme, wether it's of the evolution of humans or the evolution of life. The idea of stop animation is insane how they develop it all, so aside from the actual content, it's fascinating how it was it put together.

Week 1
So I decided to watch two videos not viewed in class. The first that I watched was "How a Mosquito Operates" by Winsor McCay and just like in "Gertie the Dinosaur", there seems to always be movement in the animation. I thought it was very clever that he made the mosquito wear a hat and had a briefcase like he was off to his job to bite this man. The other video I watched was "Beyond the Clouds" by Makoto Shinkai and it was interesting to watch something so current after watching something very, very old. Though I'm usually not a fan of any kind of anime, I really enjoyed the graphics and the way the video flowed.
