Week 3

This week we watched lighter examples of animation. The first one we watched was "The Old Mill", a disney short that was circled around a windmill. There was no dialogue, but the music aided with the emotions of the animation. I really liked how the music set the tone of the whole thing, as well as how it seemed that no matter what rough patch these animals went through, they made it and the baby chicks were born. The next one that we watched was "The Danish Poet." Out of the two, I really liked this one better because of the content. I enjoyed the story as well as how the artist simply drew each component of the animation. The animation is filled with loops, for example the boat coming and going each time was always the same. I think using a loop like that really aided to the success of the animation, because it didn't look annoying and redundant, it fit.
